Exciting Week!

Hello everyone! I'm very excited this week because Renee Haddadin is coming to Let's Quilt this week to teach for 4 days. She will teach 2 days of her special piecing technique and 2 days of long arm training. I'm excited because i get to take the long arm training class, which will teach us how to do all her amazing rays! I am fixing a special little luncheon for the girls on Monday, i will be fixing a broccoli quiche and a delicious butter lettuce pear salad! It will be a long and crazy week for me, but I'm looking forward to it! I will try to take pictures and keep you updated. Have a great week everyone! I'll talk to you all on Sunday.

PS. Here's a sneak peek of my sample for the class I'm teaching!

Back to Work!

Play time is over! Its time for me to get back to work. California was fun, but im glad to be home and getting back into the "sewing" of things. Especially because Scrap Apple Quilt Shop has asked me to come teach some quilting classes! Im very excited to have this chance to learn and grow and meet all the beautiful quilting ladies! I know i've still got a few months to go.. but i'm already planning to teach an adorable Christmas Quilt to my class, more info will be coming soon along with samples that will be posted. Another project i'm currently working on is using Batik fabric to knit a purse. Now, i know what you're thinking. Knitting a purse? What am i? 90?!? No, but Batik fabric is hand dyed and very fashionable! You also only need beginning experience to do this project. One more exciting event (i know this post has plenty), is that this weekend there is a fun quilting event out at Tuachan! So if you get a chance, bring your family and stop by! Its a really cool place to learn about the history of quilting and other neat things! I will be working in the "Let's Quilt" booth, so stop by and say hi! And don't be afraid to ask for my autograph. ;)
xoxo, dayzee.

Ps. Next week we will be posting a studio tour so keep an eye out for that! My studio is pretty cute if i must say so myself.. so check back next week for a tour!

California Gurls!

The beach, shopping, being with all my best girl friends (and our husbands).. now THAT is my dream vacation, and what do you know? Dreams really do come true! I just got back from a week at the beach. California is one of my favorite places to vacation, with the warm weather, the fact that im right next to the ocean (we stayed in a beach house!!!), and i can go to my favorite restaurant P.F Changs (3 times in a week, NEW RECORD)! Me and my 3 girlfriends, plus our hubbies, always make time to go to California each year for our annual couples vacation! Its tradition! Another tradition is that we give eachother girlfriend gifts each year, if you look a few posts back you'll see the Flip Flops in the Sand girlfriend gifts i made for my friends (they loved them by the way). I'll attach a few pictures of our vacation so you can see us California Gurls rockin the bikinis! Just kiddin', but there will be some pics attached below. Enjoy! xoxo, dayzee.

Flower Power Quilt!

This is a fun, girly quilt from Martha for her niece. I loved working on this cute quilt! I was trying to add lots of texture to this quilt for a fun look.

Girlfriend Gifts!

WOO HOO! Vacation time! Next week i'll be on the beach with all my best girlfriends! The only catch, we have to bring our husbands too. We do this vacation every year, and as a fun little tradition all the girls give eachother fun little gifts! This year my inspiration was flip flops in the sand..
